Forest recovery is complex no matter where in the world you are. As the scale and urgency of forest recovery grows, so too does the need to connect organizations, sectors, jurisdictions and resources around shared goals.
Around the world, leaders are developing new ways to coordinate forest recovery across ecoregions, sectors, jurisdictions and national borders. Hear from those working to advance these efforts from the UN and from across the US, Europe and South America, as they share how they are working to build stronger connections between organizations, sectors and countries and advance forest recovery at scale.
Speakers will share what forest recovery coordination looks like in practice in their contexts: how these efforts came together, how they are working across organizations and jurisdictions, what they have learned along the way, and what difference greater coordination is making.
A facilitated Q&A will give participants the opportunity to dig deeper into the approaches being shared and explore the questions they raise for forest recovery in Canada.
The goal? These examples offer valuable case studies for thinking about how we can better connect and align the coordination that already exists across Canada’s many ecoregions, jurisdictions and sectors, and help identify where new approaches or connections are needed to fill gaps. By looking beyond our borders, we can draw on experiences from elsewhere to imagine what a more connected and coordinated approach to forest recovery could look like here at home.
