2016: Invasive Species
Students will learn about invasive species prevention, introduction, impact and management. Invasive alien species are plants, mammals, fish, insects, other invertebrates, birds, reptiles, molluscs, microbes, and diseases that are introduced to an area and survive, and reproduce, causing harm economically or environmentally within the new area of introduction. There are limited population control mechanisms in place that help to balance their populations, allowing them to increase in numbers rapidly.
