Forests Ontario Answers the Call to Meet Goals of UN Decade on Ecosystem Restoration

Double-down on trees this World Environment Day – it’s a safe bet.

The United Nations Decade on Ecosystem Restoration launched this World Environment Day, and we’re proud to announce that Forests Ontario is an official Restoration Implementation partner – one of only a handful of such partners in North America.

Through a donation to Forests Ontario, anyone can partake in the UN Decade! When you donate to plant a tree, you’re contributing to local planting efforts and global climate goals.

We’re encouraging all climate-concerned individuals to amplify the impact of their donations by doubling down. In addition to donating, please consider:

  • #RePlanting by participating in our 50 Million Tree Program. The 50 Million Tree Program increases forest cover across the province by making tree planting easier and more affordable for property owners. If you’re a landowner with room to plant 500 trees or more, the 50 Million Tree Program may be for you!
  • #ReLearning by checking out the organization’s education activities. Forests Ontario works hard to connect youth with their environment through the delivery of various education programs. We’ve put together an educational resource package for you and your family to work through and learn about our forests!
  • #ReEngaging by joining the conversation. Subscribe to Forests Ontario’s monthly TreeLine e-newsletter to follow along with our activities (scroll down to sign up), or share how you’re taking action towards ecological restoration by connecting with us on Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, and Instagram.
