Through Your Lens: Forests Ontario Photo Contest Winners

Posted: 2021.08.06

Photo contests are back at Forests Ontario! This spring, dozens of photographers from across the province shared their best nature shots with us for a chance to be published in our quarterly magazine, Our Forest. From local flora and wildlife to flowing rivers, we’ve loved seeing Ontario’s natural landscape through your eyes. Thank you to everyone who participated!

If you missed your chance to enter our last contest or have new photos you’d like to share, fear not! We’re accepting submissions for our Fall Photo Contest until August 20th. To learn more and enter your photos, click here.

And now, here’s a look at our Summer 2021 winners.

The winning photo goes to photographer Mike Riley. This image of a Tree Swallow perched in Carden Alvar Provincial Park was taken in April 2021.

"Thanks for the feature, it's my first published piece and I'm thrilled! I shot 100 photos of this bird and this is the one where the post and the light just matched up perfectly. It's the first bird picture I've taken that I am really proud of.”
