Supporter Spotlight: Thompson Emergency Freight Systems Ltd

Forests Canada is fortunate to have several amazing businesses invest in our restoration programs, including Thompson Emergency Freight Systems Ltd. A supporter since 2015, Thompson has been running its “Book a Load…Plant a Tree” program for nearly 10 years, donating to Forests Canada for every delivery booked through its online portal.  

Thompson offers an on-demand expedite fleet with logistical ground coverage across North America as well as IATA-certified air charter and cargo services worldwide. Originally created to commemorate Thompson’s 30th anniversary, their “Book A Load” program has continued through the years because “it is very well received by our customers,” says Mark Bortolotti, Marketing & Sales Director at Thompson. “For many Thompson customers, our support of tree planting is a reason why they book with us.”  

Forests Canada offers different ways for small, medium and large businesses to give back to our natural environment through sponsorships, matching campaigns, point of sale campaigns, and/or third-party fundraising events.  

Not only has Thompson contributed to the planting of over 100,000 native trees in communities across Ontario, but the company’s employees have also participated in Community Tree Planting events, and their enthusiasm for getting more trees in the ground carries over into how they run their business. Mark adds: “Our planet’s environment is a fragile balance, which everyone has a responsibility to protect.”
