Forests Ontario is extremely grateful to our monthly donors for their continued support over the years. One such contributor we would like to take this opportunity to highlight is Joshua Parr.
Based in the Essex region, Joshua has been a monthly donor of Forests Ontario for about two and a half years. In chatting with him recently, he mentioned that he found Forests Ontario by chance. “One of the ways to fight the climate change crisis that I’m capable of as a regular person, is to plant trees,” Parr says. “I wanted to have more native trees planted and at a scale that I’m not personally capable of, so I did some research and I’m happy to say I found Forests Ontario.”
As for why he chooses to donate to Forests Ontario. “I want to save the world,” Parr says. “I don’t have the political or financial sway to do so on my own, so I look for groups that have that same intention and do my best to support them.” Donating monthly also makes it easier from a financial standpoint.
Parr adds that trees are one of the simplest and most effective ways for average people like him to help, and we can sometimes take them for granted. “All life is interconnected, we need trees. For wildlife, to clean the air, to help strengthen the soil, to help clean the water. They do so much for us.”
Well said Joshua!
