Forest History Photo Submission Contest

The Contest Has Ended

Forest, woodlot and woodland ecosystems are living, breathing and constantly changing. Together with the Ontario Woodlot Association, we want to showcase your photos of beautiful natural landscapes from the past and present.

Have you enjoyed watching newly planted trees grow into a healthy, vibrant forest? Have woodlands inspired your career? Do you have past and present photos that show how the trees in your community have grown? Have you seen wildlife thrive in your forest? If you answered yes to any of these questions, and have photos to share, we would love to see them!

The winning submission(s) will be featured in an upcoming magazine produced jointly by the Ontario Woodlot Association and Forests Ontario, as well as on both organization’s social media platforms.

Submission criteria

• 1-2 original photos (either that you have taken or that are old family photos that you are entitled to share).

• Description of how the forest, woodlot, or woodland has changed over time and the approximate year the photo(s) was/ were taken.

• Brief explanation of how your photo(s) fit the themes of “then and now”, “biodiversity”, or “restoration”.
