Ed and Anne Barden have seen those forests grow firsthand, having participated in Forests Ontario’s planting programs to restore their once-bare property in Erin, Ontario. After decades of planting and careful management with Forests Ontario and our planting partners, the Barden’s have created a model refuge for wildlife and biodiversity where their family can enjoy the beauty of the forest.

“The enjoyment comes mostly from the grandchildren, they’ve enjoyed it immensely,” Ed says. Ultimately, Ed and Anne planted the trees for their kids and grandkids, and their futures. “One generation plants the tree, and the next one gets the shade,” Ed says.
