Celebrate our Forests on World Environment Day

June 5 is World Environment Day. Led by the United Nations Environment Programme, World Environment Day is a global platform encouraging all of us to celebrate, protect and restore our planet, and we all have a role to play.

Here at Forests Ontario, we celebrate the importance of a healthy environment year-round. From cleaning our water and providing habitat for wildlife, to improving the health of our local environment for future generations, our forests inspire positive change.

As a leading registered charity dedicated to greening the communities in which we live, work, and play, Forests Ontario’s large-scale afforestation programs, extensive education initiatives, and decades of community outreach result in millions of trees being planted each year.

Together with our many partners across the country, we have planted almost 39 million trees, creating more than 19,000 hectares of new forests. This achievement would not be possible without the generous support of our donors, partners, members, and sponsors.

With a donation to Forests Ontario this year, you will support the planting and restoration of new forests and grasslands ecosystems in local communities across more than 600 project sites.
